Rebeca Pineda Burgos .
Rebeca Pineda Burgos completed her Ph.D. in Latin American, Iberian, and Latino Cultures at The Graduate Center, CUNY, New York. She has successfully defended her dissertation, “Bodies in Conflict during Chavism: Four Venezuelan Works in the Era of the Bolivarian Revolution”. She received a B.A. in Arts and an M.A. in Venezuelan Literature from Universidad Central de Venezuela, where she taught graduate and undergraduate courses in Venezuelan Literature. She currently teaches at City College of New York and Hunter College of New York, CUNY. Her research focuses on contemporary Venezuelan cultural objects (such as novels, film and visual arts) and their interpretation of chavismo and sociopolitical Venezuelan reality.
